Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us,
1.when will all this happen?
2.What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?
Here the disciples are asking Jesus two questions: what would be the sign of His coming and when the end would be. They already knew about His first appearance—they were witnessing it every day—and they wanted to know about the other two. He must have discussed His future comings with the disciples, for they seemed to have knowledge of them.
Signs of His coming precede the second appearance, the Rapture. At this appearance Jesus won’t come all the way to Earth, but the Bride will be caught up to Him by the power of the Holy Ghost. We which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:15–17).
At His third appearance (after the tribulation period ) Jesus will end the Battle of Armageddon, bringing to a close affairs on Earth as we know them today. Keep in mind, in this chapter the Lord is talking about two different appearances of Jesus, His second and third. Not being able to separate the two
has confused some people. Be prepared for the Lords coming .
