How to lay the Foundation of Jesus in My Life

Matthew 13:9-11
Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some says John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Peter in Greek is Petros which is a stone.
Petra in Greek is a Rock that extends to the bedrock and as its part of the bedrock

So you see now Peter is not the foundation of our faith. What Jesus Christ meant in Matthew 16:18 was a reference to the revelation God gave Peter in verse 16, Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God, on this account Jesus Christ institutes the foundation of our faith which is Jesus Christ Himself.

Deuteronomy 32:30-31 how could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had given them up? For their rock is not as our Rock; our enemies are by themselves.

In Deuteronomy 32:30-31 the rock there is metaphor meaning the True God Jehovah is our Rock and foundation.

Peter went through These Four Successive Faces Before Encountering Jesus
1. A revelation giving by God the Father through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 16:17).
2. There has to be an acknowledgement
3. A personal confession of Jesus Christ as the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16).
4. Public confession our faith in Christ Jesus (Matthew 10:32-33)

1. Jesus Christ was not revealed to Peter as the Son of the Carpenter, but as the Son of God (Hebrews 13:8)
2. The revelation was through the Holy Spirits
