Head Coach of Aduana Stars W O Tandoh has blame his side 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko on match day one of the normalization committee’s special competition on inappropriate calls made by referee Daniel Laryea and his two assistants at the Baba Nyara sports stadium in Kumasi last Sunday.
With a new training from FIFA to the local referees and a new football system after the number 12 documentary, it is still surprising to hear the same old complaints from coaches.
Many football fans were expecting an improved situation when the normalization committee took over football from the previous administration after last year’s corruption scandal.
Speaking at the post match conference, the Aduana Gafa was furious with referee Daniel Laryea’s decision to rule out Yaya Mohammed’s goal as offside and he believes the referees need to be normalized before we can have a clean game.
“Our officials must normalize themselves too, because, it will be suicidal next time when anybody takes the route to defend somebody who is weak,” Tandoh said at post match conference.
“I want to tell the NC Chairman [Dr Kofi Amoah] and the Appointment Committee of the Referees that they should look sharp because it was a bad thing”.
“Laryea [Referee Daniel Laryea] has disgraced himself very well. The goal he disallowed, the player was in the post so how do you disallow it”.
“That’s a very bad thing. So, I beg the officials that, if they want us to have a good tournament, then they should work on the referees because they are still not normalized,’’ he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Asante Kotoko coach Raphael Akakpo Patron has rejected suggestions that his side were not motivated for the Normalization Committee’s Special Competition following their painful exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.
